Terms of Use

Last Updated: January 15, 2025

Welcome to Playtime-malaysia. These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of our educational platform focused on mobile social casino game development. By accessing or using our services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these terms.

1. Platform Overview and Educational Services

Playtime-malaysia operates as an educational platform offering courses, workshops, and resources related to mobile social casino game development. Our services are designed for individuals seeking to build skills in game design, development techniques, and understanding the social casino gaming industry within Malaysia's market context.

The content we provide includes instructional materials, video tutorials, written guides, code examples, and project-based learning exercises. All educational content remains the intellectual property of Playtime-malaysia unless otherwise specified.

Our educational programs typically begin enrollment periods in autumn 2025, with course commencement scheduled for early 2026. Specific dates and program availability are subject to change based on enrollment numbers and operational capacity.

2. Eligibility and Account Requirements

Age Restrictions

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account and access our educational services. By registering, you confirm that you meet this age requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into binding agreements.

Account Registration

When creating an account, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration
  • Maintain and promptly update your account information
  • Keep your login credentials confidential and not share them with others
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized account access
  • Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or engage in behavior inconsistent with our educational mission.

3. Acceptable Use and Student Conduct

As a student on our platform, you're expected to maintain professional conduct that supports a constructive learning environment. This isn't just about following rules — it's about creating a space where everyone can focus on developing their skills.

Prohibited Activities

You may not:

  • Share, distribute, or resell any course materials without explicit written permission
  • Upload malicious code, viruses, or any harmful software to our platform
  • Attempt to access restricted areas or interfere with platform functionality
  • Harass, threaten, or engage in discriminatory behavior toward other students or staff
  • Use automated systems to scrape or download content en masse
  • Misrepresent your identity or impersonate others
  • Submit work that isn't your own or assist others in academic dishonesty

Academic Integrity

Original work matters in education. When completing assignments and projects, you're expected to produce your own work. Collaboration is encouraged where specified, but direct copying or submitting someone else's code as your own violates our academic standards.

If you reference external resources, tutorials, or open-source code in your projects, proper attribution is required. This practice not only maintains academic honesty but also develops professional habits essential in the game development industry.

4. Intellectual Property Rights

Platform Content Ownership

All instructional materials, course content, video lectures, written guides, code frameworks, and educational resources available through Playtime-malaysia are protected by copyright and remain our intellectual property. This includes original teaching methodologies, curriculum design, and proprietary learning systems we've developed.

Your enrollment grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use these materials solely for personal educational purposes during your active enrollment period.

Student Work and Project Rights

Projects and creative work you develop during your courses remain your intellectual property. However, by submitting work through our platform for evaluation or display in course portfolios, you grant Playtime-malaysia a limited license to:

  • Review and evaluate your work for educational assessment purposes
  • Display selected student projects as examples in marketing materials (with your permission)
  • Use anonymized student work samples for teaching purposes in future courses

We will always request explicit permission before using your work in promotional materials and will properly credit you when your work is featured publicly.

5. Course Completion and Certification

Certificates of completion are awarded to students who successfully fulfill all course requirements, including assignment submissions, project deliverables, and participation benchmarks as outlined in individual course syllabi.

Certification Requirements

To receive a certificate, you must:

  • Complete all required modules and assignments by specified deadlines
  • Achieve minimum passing scores on evaluated work
  • Maintain active participation throughout the course duration
  • Submit a final project that meets assessment criteria
  • Remain in good standing with no academic integrity violations

Important: Our certificates represent educational achievement and skill development. They do not guarantee employment, specific salary outcomes, or career advancement. The value of your education depends largely on how you apply what you learn.

Certificate validity and recognition vary by employer and industry context. While we design our curriculum to align with industry standards, individual career outcomes depend on multiple factors beyond course completion.

6. Payment Terms and Refund Policy

Course fees are specified during the enrollment process. Payment is required before accessing course materials unless you're participating in a deferred payment plan that we've approved in writing.

Refund Conditions

We offer a 14-day refund window from your course start date. If you decide the program isn't right for you within this period and have not accessed more than 25% of the course content, you may request a full refund.

After the 14-day period, refunds are evaluated on a case-by-case basis and may be prorated based on content accessed. Circumstances considered for refund requests beyond the standard window include medical emergencies, family hardships, or significant life events that prevent course completion.

Refund requests should be submitted to [email protected] with a brief explanation of your situation. We typically process approved refunds within 10 business days.

7. Limitation of Liability

Playtime-malaysia provides educational services "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. While we work hard to deliver quality education, we cannot guarantee specific outcomes, career results, or income levels following course completion.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Playtime-malaysia shall not be liable for:

  • Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from platform use
  • Loss of data, profits, or business opportunities
  • Employment outcomes or career advancement results
  • Technical issues, service interruptions, or platform downtime
  • Third-party content or links referenced in educational materials

Our total liability for any claims related to our services is limited to the amount you paid for the specific course or service giving rise to the claim.

Some jurisdictions don't allow certain liability limitations, so portions of this section may not apply to you depending on local laws in Malaysia or your specific location.

8. Privacy and Data Protection

We collect and process personal information as necessary to provide educational services. This includes contact details, payment information, course progress data, and submitted coursework.

Your privacy matters to us. We implement reasonable security measures to protect your information and do not sell your personal data to third parties. For detailed information about our data practices, please review our separate Privacy Policy.

By using our platform, you consent to the collection and use of information as described in our Privacy Policy and these Terms of Use.

9. Dispute Resolution and Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Any disputes arising from your use of our platform or services should first be addressed through direct communication with our team.

Informal Resolution

If you have concerns or disputes, we encourage you to contact us at [email protected]. Most issues can be resolved through honest conversation, and we're committed to finding fair solutions that work for everyone involved.

Formal Proceedings

If informal resolution doesn't resolve the matter, any legal proceedings must be conducted in the courts of Penang, Malaysia. Both parties agree to submit to the jurisdiction of these courts for dispute resolution.

Before initiating formal legal action, parties agree to attempt mediation through a mutually agreed upon mediator in George Town, Penang.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Use periodically to reflect changes in our services, legal requirements, or operational practices. When we make significant changes, we'll notify active students via email and post an announcement on the platform.

Continued use of our services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. If you disagree with modifications, you should discontinue platform use and may be eligible for a prorated refund based on your current enrollment status.

The "Last Updated" date at the top of this document indicates when the most recent changes were made.

11. Termination of Services

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to our platform if you violate these terms, engage in behavior that disrupts the learning environment, or misuse our services.

You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us directly. Upon termination, your access to course materials will be revoked, though certificates already earned remain valid.

Even after account termination, certain provisions of these terms remain in effect, including intellectual property rights, limitation of liability, and dispute resolution clauses.
